POPIA compliance notice for market capacity matching in South Africa.
1. Who we are
FAMA.X is the responsible party for the personal information processed through this platform, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. What we collect
For session RSVPs, we collect your name, WhatsApp number, email, province, nearest town, farming scale, available-land bracket and referral interest. The separate capacity registration form collects your name, WhatsApp number, province, nearest town, hectares, water access and infrastructure. We do not collect identity numbers, banking details or biometric information.
3. Why we collect it
RSVP details are used to manage your place at the producer session and contact you with session information. If you separately register farm capacity, that information is used to assess aggregated capacity against buyer demand and contact you about relevant matches. We do not use it for unrelated marketing.
4. Consent and lawful basis
Processing is based on the consent you give when submitting the registration form. You may withdraw consent at any time, after which we stop processing and delete your record unless law requires retention.
5. Sharing
Aggregated, de-identified capacity figures (for example total hectares per regional hub) may be shared with prospective buyers. Your name and WhatsApp number are shared with a specific buyer only where you have been matched and only to enable that engagement. We never sell personal information.
6. Retention and security
Capacity records are retained while your listing remains active. RSVP records are retained while needed to manage the session and follow-up, unless you request deletion. Data is stored on access-controlled infrastructure; only authorised FAMA.X personnel can view submissions.
7. Your rights
You may request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your record, or object to processing. Contact FAMA.X through the channel used to invite you to the session to make a request.
8. No guarantee
Capacity matching is an introduction service. Registration does not create an offtake agreement and FAMA.X makes no guarantee of a purchase, price or volume.
